REFLECTIONS ON A SOCIETY AND M DES | CONSTRUCTION
The year that marks half a century of female sexual liberation, in the midst of a troubled and backward political scenario, inspired questions about achievements, freedom, and time. In May 68 in France, youth occupied the streets to dismantle the symbolic structures of previous generations, in a disruptive moral and aesthetic affront, transforming the status quo. Fifty years later, we face up-to-date versions of oppression against women, even though our resistance is now more potent and reverberating. We are the fruit of these ideas that go through time, and producers of (new) revolutionary ideas with the same potential
Jeans make the same time travel, wearing generations as a true urban uniform that refers to youth and resistance. The clippings of ideas that today make up the inspirational universe of our struggles, translate into the geometric pieces of reused jeans, setting up new arrangements. They are updated perspectives on clothes, causing productive resignifications through communication in dress. This aesthetic challenge brings revolutionary messages to everyday life, since the staff is also political.
